it is extremely windy here tonight........well really all day and it is very cold. we refused to buy oil this year because it's just too damn expensive. my downstairs neighbors got it and it cost them over 600. and that is just like sticking a gun to our head to steal something from us. we were watching a news special tonight and electricity was the cheapest although it's still up there but it is the cheapest way to go this year but it's not always reliable so that has me a bit worried. because if the winds blow the electrical wires down then we are screwed. i guess i will have to look into another option hopefully before it happens.

she is packing a punch around here today with rain and wind. i have several family members that was in her way and they suffered some property damage but thank goodness that all of them are physically safe and sound. i've heard a lot of fire trucks and sirens this morning so i can only image what is going on out there. on the news they are mentioning flood watches in various cities so please pray that every one gets through this storm without any drama. born and raised in florida i am truly used to all kinds of weather but this year is definitely something i have never experienced and i have more respect for mother nature than i ever had before. my thoughts and prayers go out to all affected by mother nature today.

glenn and i vegged for a good part of the day yesterday and then we decided to get moving at around four pm hit the burlington mall. glenn wanted to pick up a few things and i'm always up to some window shopping and people watching. i think that people are so odd nowadays. when i am people watching i count how many times i make eye contact with someone and yesterday was a bust. for the time that i was people watching not one person's eyes met with mine. don't you think that is odd? i guess being from the south i take offense to this more than others and if that sounds arrogant then i apologize but that is my feeling on the matter. i like to greet folks with a smile and a hey but that ain't gonna get done in this day and time.

the only people that i caught greeting one another were the folks from the middle east. they walk through the mall with their hands locked behind their backs as they are taking a relaxing stroll. when another walker from the middle east passes by they nod at one another and i thought that to be so telling. i was raised on the butt end of that era and it saddens me that i have no one to share it with. my neighborhood was my family and we knew each other and i don't just mean as those folks down the street, no. i mean joe and edna up the street said hello today. we knew everything about one another because we cared about one anothers well being but that isn't the way today. i have lived in my neighborhood now for almost 4 years and i don't know half of my neighbors and that saddens me. i've tried but they are bitin' and i can't make them interact with me if they don't want it.

my son and i have touched on this subject and come to find out this is happening all over the country. my son moved away from the boston area to south carolina thinking that the south is friendlier but found out that isn't so. now we aren't sure if the ones he came into contact with are transplanted southerners or true southerners but they are just as nasty there as any big city.

forgive me but i want to know my neighbors. i want to neighbor and i think it's my god given right to do so............don't you? of course i have the right to want it and you have the right not to want it and that folks is what being an american is all about. FREEDOM

<this is just outside my office window>

it's such a beautiful day here in arlington but it's clouded by some troubles of our brothers and sisters in taunton about 50 miles away. if you haven't heard all of the reports then click on taunton here and it will take you to a news report. my prayers go out to all of them and hope that they will be able to go back to their homes soon. this has been a volatile weather season for the country so that worries me about our upcoming winter. i was hoping for a dry winter but who knows what is in store for us. well we can't worry about that right now let's just take it one day at a time and enjoy this beautiful fall season........my favorite time of year.

it's 8:50am and i have already been out and about. i had an early appointment so as usual i had to be even earlier because i don't like being late for anything. i was sitting there for a few minutes reading the paper when i heard the phone ring and the receptionist was saying well did you call her and then click was the next thing i heard. she went to her desk and put her things down and then came to the waiting room to ask if anyone was there to see jasmine and i said yes. she said well she just called in sick and if it would have been me i would have called you earlier at home so that you wouldn't have driven down here for nothing. i jumped up and said no problem and that things happen..........have a good day. hehehehe i bet she thought i was insane but truly things do happen and if your sick then your sick and there is no reason to get upset and ruin the rest of your day...........right?

well i'm off to have some breakfast and then get a few more z'sssss before my next appt. at 1pm. it's gorgeous out today with the sun shining and a nip in the air. others might say it's cold but i am loving it and wish it would stay just like this.

glenn and i went to mos today and had a ball. we've been here about 4 years and have never been and with all of this rain we figured it was the perfect day for it. we went to the hyden planetarium and watched countdown to supernova and it was fantastic. then we checked out a lot of the exhibits but you can't do it all in one day or atleast we couldn't. so we left at around 5pm and headed over to the cambridge galleria for an early dinner at the cheesecake factory and it was a fantastic meal. if nothing else you have to try the pumpkin-pecan cheesecake as it was to die for.

gosh if I don't get some sunshine soon i'm going to fall into the kingdom of gloom for sure. i think it's been a week now since we have seen the sun here and i for one miss it very much. of course i am enjoying the cool weather because we had a very hot summer but please let the sun peek through those clouds.

i have a neighbor lady that is a hooker of sorts but i don't judge. we became friends a couple of years back because she bought the store next to my house. i spent many hours in there just talking and meeting the neighborhood folks. well i found out soon in the relationship that she slept with anything that had a dollar to blow......pardon the pun. any way it has never bothered me because i've done things in my life that others might not approve of and heck i'm not the judge of anyone.

well she has been bothering me for about a year to come over and take pictures of her and her pets and for one reason or another it never happened until yesterday. i picked up the phone and she was asking me to come over and take some pics and i said i would be right over. i showed up at her place and she was running around picking up clothing and telling me that we were going to the 3rd floor of her house and inside i was thinking uh oh this doesn't look good. reason being is that is where she entertains her clients. you have to understand here i'm a plain ol' country girl from okeechobee florida and yes i have seen a lot in my life and participated in things when i was younger but this is definitely one place if you knew me that i wouldn't be. i'm as big around as i am tall, sickly and really not comfortable with this lifestyle in my face but she's a friend right? i can do this.....she will come out in a bathing suit or a nice blouse and a pair of shorts because anything else would be shocking to me. i was shocked more that i can say............i tried not to goggle and act like a doofus so i took the pictures as asked. she made several changes in clothing and some without and today i am still shaking my head about what i will do for a friend.

hmmm well I finally got home at about 2:30pm and I was exhausted so i went to bed. don't let anyone tell you that this procedure doesn't hurt because they aren't telling the truth and to top it off they had to do it twice on me and i'm still feeling it everytime i swallow. i will get the results in about a week so I will know more then.

i went to the doctor yesterday and got the results of my mri and the good news is i don't have to have surgery.......the bad news is i'm still in pain and what are they going to do for me? aha just send me to another doctor and let them poke and prod and when they can't figure it out send me to another. do i sound bitter? well i guess i am since i have been in pain with my shoulder since february and they still don't know why.......well basically i hurt from my neck to my lower back but whatever is wrong with me doesn't need surgery so see ya later and make an appt. with this new doctor and i did and he will see me in november. blah blah blah o' well it could be worse i suppose so no use in complaining about it because no one wants to hear it. :ut::

i'm so excited that it is friday because Glenn will be home for the weekend and that is the best part of my week. just him being gone during the day at work hurts sometimes because i want him here but unfortunately we aren't independently wealthy so there ya go. i'm not sure what we are doing this weekend but i will try and get some pictures of where ever we go. to my friends i hope your weekend is just what you want it to be and to the new visitors i wish you the same. please leave a comment so i know that you have stopped by. hugs, zissy

glenn and i just got home from seeing sky high and it was very cute and when it comes out on dvd we want to own it. then we went to pick up a few groceries and hurried home because it is boiling out there today. nothing going on for the rest of the afternoon except i will probably play with psp or take a nap.

this is a new food jag for me. i found out that libby's has fruit sweetened with splenda and i top it off with go lean crunch from kashi and there isn't anything better.

i haven't blogged since friday so i figured i better get busy. friday evening our new neighbors rolled up to move in. nice young couple from michigan and their four year old daughter. they seem like nice kids and anything has to be better than that witch that lived downstairs this last year. glenn and i went out to dinner on friday night and also stopped by toys r us so that i could get spoiled with some toys and i found the neatest item. they are called aquapets and i got pizzazz. she is the cutest thing ever and i love the little noises she makes. then we came home and just vegged.

just couldn't sleep any longer and i wanted to take a shower for some reason. must of been something i was dreaming about but i had this wanted need to take a bloody shower at this ungodly hour and i had taken one before i went to bed at around 1am. bleah

today is suppose to be one of the hottest days of the summer and is to feel like 105. i don't know about the rest of you but i'm ready for this summer to take a leap in the ocean. of course i don't want it to be freezing with snow up to my waist but i would like it around the 70's but that's just crazy talk.

yup it's official i am addicted to diet coke and no matter what i try i can't seem to get off of it. i am not going to put up with these horrible headaches just trying to get off of diet coke. i have had everything taken away from me because of my health and today i made up my mind i will NOT give up my diet coke and that is the end of it. so doctors wrap your brains around that and quit trying to take everything away from me. i know they are only trying to help and make me healthier but i just can't give it up and i won't.

glenn had a rough night with his tummy and i had more nightmares but not as bad as the night before so today is just for relaxing. we just got back from the grocery store and picked up a few things for the week and for our lunch today. we had subs, chips and red seedless grapes and now it's pc time. glenn is playing battlefield 2 and well you know what i'm doing.

i just got home from mgh and i'm exhausted. i had my ct scan and my bone scan and now i am having my lunch and it's off to bed for a nap. everything went smoothly so my stress level was at a minimum and that is always good when you go to the hospital. as soon as i get the results i will post them..........have a good day.

when i was growing up in florida that is what we called days like we had today here in boston. the sun wasn't shining, the breeze wasn't blowing and the air was as thick as split pea soup or we would say it was so thick you could cut it with a knife.

i didn't leave my house at all today until about 9pm and it was still yucky. my neighbor john was sitting on his stoop and we said our hellos and i told him that i was going to walgreens for an ice cream and we both agreed it was a good night for one so i went and picked us up each one. when i got back we jawed a little bit but then the skeeters got the best of us so that was the end of that.

i believe he was one of the first neighbors we met when we moved here from los angeles. we had a little store right next to us called decatur market and i thought he worked there but soon found out it was a good neighborhood meetin' place and i for one miss it. now that it's not open i don't know how some of my neighbors are doing because they don't have a place to hang out. my favorite day of the week was sunday when pat one of the original shop owners would bring in donuts that he had made for the store just for sundays. everyone would come in and talk about world events from the past as well as the present. i learned a lot about my neighborhood just by hanging out and listening to the old timers jaw about their younger years in the acre.

getting back to john he is the nicest neighbor i think i have ever had in my life. if you have a question he will try and answer it or find someone that can. he's the first one to be out shoveling in the winter and not just his own area but he goes up and down the street making sure everyone can get out. he has the most wonderful veggie garden that i just love to watch grow. i just started a photo gallery of his garden and will take pictures through the growing season so you can see it as it develops. those are just the first three pictures and i will add more starting tomorrow.

now they just remind me that glenn has to go to work tomorrow and i'll be all alone. we always have such a good time together that when we are apart it hurts. today we didn't do a whole lot but enough to keep us busy. we went to home depot to pick up a few things to do the yard. then we went to the grocery store because i wanted to cook out for dinner. whoops before we went to the grocery store we went to wendy's and i had a kids meal with chicken nuggets and a strawberry yogurt with granola and glenn got a number 4 i believe.

when we got home we did a little weed eating and then came in and cooled off for a bit because it was a scorcher today.

glenn and i went to framingham, ma today and had a wonderful time. first we went to olive garden and glenn had a garlic shrimp pasta dish and i had the pasta fagioli soup and salad.........yummy. then we went to best buy so that glenn could return a mouse he had bought the previous night and get a different one(they didn't have the one he wanted). then we went to bob's furniture to check out the memory foam beds that they offer. we didn't buy one but it is on the top of our big buy list. i'm a big fan of the christmas tree store so glenn took me there next and we picked up a few things for our back porch where i like to hang out. since glenn couldn't find his mouse in framingham we decided to stop by the best buy in watertown and they had exactly what he wanted. lastly we stopped at target to get our bunny lily some timothy hay. we arrived home to all of our fur babies very happy to see us and they were digging in the bags to see if they got any goodies.

went to bankruptcy court this morning and after 5 minutes it's finally over. of course the embarassment and the anger with my body not being able to work will still haunt me but the monkey is off my back. i've always been a hard worker and paid my bills not always on time but they were paid so having to go in front of someone and show them that i have failed and can't meet my responsibilities really bothers me and i would be concerned if it didn't bother me.

you walk in a room that has a table with several seats around it as well as more seating located all around the room and you sit down until they call your name. there will be a few attorney's, maybe some creditor's and other people in the same boat as you. the trustee will call your name and you go up and sit down beside him/her and have your picture id and ss card ready. the tape recorder is turned on and you are asked a few questions and that's it.

i'm not sure if it's the weather, world events or my depression kickin' in today but the blues are smothering me. i try to look at the upside cause we need the rain, all of my friends in london are alive and well so that only leaves the depression and that hangs over my head like a black cloud ready to burst at any moment.

I just tried once more to view my blog at tBlog and they are still working out the bugs..........arggggggggg. So I am here blogging between thunder booms so I might have to leave in a few. I was just at RP playing in the AU room and got scared by the thunder and was going to shut down but it's stopped for the moment. I'm definitely not complaining about the rain because we need it and I hope it rains all day.

I just opened an account here at ego because I am having so many problems at tBlog. If they don't get in gear and get things moving over there I am going to be forced to move out of there for good. It's getting late or too early to report anything for today so I will be back later.
